Compound Overview

The TR-2 Composite combines two independently studied research peptides into a single preparation at a 1:1 ratio:

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157): A synthetic pentadecapeptide (15 amino acids) derived from a partial sequence of human gastric juice protein. BPC-157 has been the subject of extensive preclinical research, with over 100 published studies examining its interactions with nitric oxide (NO) systems, growth factor signalling (including VEGF, EGF, and FGF pathways), and the FAK-paxillin pathway involved in cell migration (Sikiric et al., 2018).

TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 Fragment 17-23): A synthetic heptapeptide fragment of Thymosin Beta-4, a 43-amino-acid peptide that functions as a major actin-sequestering protein. The TB-500 fragment contains the actin-binding domain (LKKTETQ) and has been studied in preclinical models for its role in cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility, and extracellular matrix interactions (Goldstein et al., 2005).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is TR-2 and what does it contain?

TR-2 is a composite research peptide combining BPC-157 and TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 fragment) at 20mg total per unit. Both components are widely studied in tissue research models for their distinct mechanisms in cellular migration, repair signalling, and extracellular matrix interactions.

What is the purity of this peptide?

BioCompounds UK supplies HPLC-verified research-grade material. Selected batches undergo independent third-party analysis by Janoshik Analytical, with current published Certificates of Analysis available on our batch verification page when applicable.

What is the half-life of BPC-157 and TB-500?

BPC-157 has a relatively short systemic half-life (typically measured in hours in research models), but local tissue effects persist. TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 active fragment) has been studied with a longer half-life of approximately 2-3 hours. Research protocols typically involve daily or every-other-day administration.

How does TR-2 compare to TR-3?

TR-2 supplies BPC-157 + TB-500 at 20mg total. TR-3 adds KPV to the same base (BPC-157 + TB-500 + KPV at 30mg total). The third component in TR-3 is intended to extend the research model into anti-inflammatory signalling pathways.

How should this peptide be stored?

Storage depends on the format you have chosen:

  • 20mg Vial (lyophilised powder): Store at -20°C in a sealed container, away from light and moisture. Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C and use within approximately four weeks.
  • 3ml Cartridge (for reusable pen): Store refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C from arrival. Once opened, use within 3 months. Keep away from light.
  • Disposable Ready-to-Use Pen: Store refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C from arrival. Once opened, use within 3 months. Keep away from light.

Full details are in our Peptide Storage Guide.

What formats is this available in?

This product is available in three research formats: a 20mg lyophilised vial, a 3ml cartridge for reusable research pens, and a ready-to-use disposable pen. Vials offer the most flexibility in reconstitution; cartridges and pens are calibrated for our standard equipment.

How fast is UK delivery?

Orders are typically dispatched within 24 hours via Royal Mail Tracked 24. During busier periods dispatch may extend to 48 hours. Free shipping on UK orders over £100. Full details on our Postage Guidance page.

Is this product legal in the UK?

All BioCompounds UK products are sold strictly for in-vitro laboratory research by qualified researchers aged 18 or over. They are not approved or intended for human or veterinary consumption, diagnostic, or therapeutic use. See our Terms of Purchase for full guidance.
