Epithalon — Synthetic Tetrapeptide
Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly · 50mg Research Vial
Compound Overview
Epithalon (Epitalon/Epithalone) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It is a synthetic analogue of the endogenous peptide Epithalamin, derived from the pineal gland.
Mechanism of Action
Telomerase Research: In vitro studies report Epithalon activates telomerase (hTERT) in human somatic cells, leading to elongation of telomeric DNA. Telomerase activity and telomere length are central subjects of biogerontology research.
Pineal Gland Studies: Preclinical research has investigated Epithalon for effects on melatonin synthesis and circadian rhythm regulation via pineal gland function modulation.
